On the way to school, the father kidnaps the German child and is thought to have taken her to the East African island of Zanzibar. The desperate mother asks a solicitor for help, who reveals to her that a court battle in Tanzania could take up to several years. The woman gets in touch with private detective Dietmar Wagner, who has specialised in returning children. Together, they decide to travel to Africa in order to free the child. As the mother is well known in Zanzibar, she must not be recognised when she gets to the island.
